Paris suspect snubs court
THE only surviving suspect from the Paris terror attacks has told a Belgian court he will not answer its questions, adding: “I’m not afraid of you.”
Salah Abdeslam, 28, is on trial over the gunfight that led to his arrest in Brussels.
But he insisted he will not respond to the judge, saying: “My silence does not make me a criminal, it’s my defence.” He went on to claim Muslims were “judged and treated in the worst of ways” and added: “I am not afraid of you, I am not afraid of your allies.”
The trial continues. He will later face a French court over the 2015 atrocities, including the Bataclan horror, in which 130 people were killed.
