Tory rap over major works

POOR decisions are damaging the UK’s infrastructure, a report has warned.

The Tories’ approach to major road, rail and energy projects was short-sighted with work delivered “late, over budget and in some cases not at all”, said the Institute for Government.

It also warned ministers favoured private finance models for delivering infrastructure projects despite “limited evidence” they were better value.
