Lions savage zoo’s vulture
A CROWD at a zoo saw two lions maul a vulture released for a flying display.
The bird called Yatsey snagged in the roof netting of their enclosure and the lioness dragged it in.
Vets believed the wounded 22-year-old bird could be treated but it went into shock and died.
Onlookers at Colchester Zoo, Essex, described it as “sad and traumatic”.
Six years ago a barn owl was killed during a display after flying into the same lions’ enclosure.
