‘Huge scale’ coach abuse

FORMER football coach Barry Bennell molested kids “on an industrial scale”, a court heard.

Bennell, 64, had a pool table, arcade machines and pets to lure lads to his “kids’ paradise” home.

Prosecutor Nicholas Johnson QC said the defendant exploited the boys’ dreams of becoming professional footballers.

Benell, appearing at Liverpool crown court via video link, denies 45 counts of sexual assault between 1979 and 1990.
