Paris suspect quits case

-

THE only surviving suspect of the Paris terror atrocity yesterday pulled out of a trial in which he is accused of trying to kill police.

Salah Abdeslam, 28, said he is refusing to return to court.

An official at the Palais de Justice in Brussels said: “Mr Abdeslam informed the court that he did not wish to appear at the hearing.” Abdeslam will be tried in his absence. On Monday, he told a Belgian judge: ‘I’m not afraid of you. I put my trust in Allah.’

Abdeslam is accused of firing at eight officers in 2016, while on the run after the 2015 Paris massacre, which he is awaiting trial for.
