Food industry is hard to process
Good news… Britain is finally topping a league table.
Oh, less good news – it’s for the amount of processed food we eat. Apparently we eat more “ultra processed” meals, cakes, cheese, cereals, sauces than anywhere else in Europe.
But the wild west of the British food industry goes on pretty much unpoliced.
In France, the public and its politicians wouldn’t consider letting manufacturers pump this much junk into our supermarket aisles, addicting our kids and filling our hospital wards. They’d tell them to casse-toi. That’s in France with a quarter of our reliance on processed foods, by the way.
