Sleepy thief found in loos

RESTAURANT staff found a suspected burglar asleep in the toilet of an empty charity shop next door.

The man allegedly got in via a fire escape linking the buildings before stealing knives and other kit.

Staff at Lily’s Restaurant in Gloucester went on the trail of the thief after discovering the break-in on turning up for work.

Boss Kevin Meecham said: “It sounds comical now but we went through armed with frying pans.”

A man, 42, was arrested.
