Tourist jailed over 38 weapons

-

A TOURIST has been jailed for four years for bringing home 38 deadly weapons.

Ryan Sullivan, 24, had seven stun guns disguised as torches and phones, batons, knuckle-dusters, nunchuks, a butterfly knife, CS gas and pepper spray in his case.

Sullivan had been on holiday to Bulgaria with his girlfriend and children and was stopped by security at Cardiff airport, the city’s crown court heard.

Prosecutor Jeffrey Jones said Sullivan told officers the items were “holiday souvenirs” but two of the stun guns could deliver “between 5,000 and 8,000 volts”.

Sullivan, from Ely, Cardiff, admitted possessing prohibited weapons.
