Drunk driver ‘looked like heart victim’
THE wife of an ex-magistrate was so drunk at the wheel witnesses called 999 thinking she had a heart attack, a court heard.
Anna Wiles, 54, had downed a quarter bottle of vodka after finding out she was losing her care home administrator job, and was nearly four times the limit.
She was seen weaving then stopping in the road, where she was found slumped behind the wheel. A witness “was concerned she had suffered a stroke or heart attack”, prosecutor Tina Cunnane said.
Her husband, former JP Richard, 56, of Sale, Greater Manchester, was in the public gallery as she admitted drink-driving and was handed eightweeks’ suspended jail and a three-year road ban by Manchester magistrates.
