GIANT MEMO TO MAMO

HUDDERSFIELD coach Rick Stone has backed star full-back Jake Mamo to respond to his nightmare on opening day.

Injury restricted Aussie Mamo (right) to just nine matches last season – but 12 tries marked him down as one to watch this year.

The ex-Newcastle Knight made a series of errors in the Giants’ 38-12 defeat at Hull.

However, Stone is confident Mamo will recover quickly and said: “Last week there was always going to be some high expectations on Jake. He was a bit rusty for sure and he was disappointed in his game but he will bounce back this week.

“He can start by just doing the basics right, making sure he comes up with no errors, and put himself in the right positions.

“He’s got confidence in his ability, so he just needs to concentrate and make sure he executes.”
