Jose moans, but fans will stand for it

-

IT was a bit strange of Jose Mourinho to complain about Old Trafford being too subdued on the day fans were asked to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Munich air crash.

But then it’s weird that a man who demands £13million a year from football clubs would even begin to moan about the dire atmosphere at most modern football grounds brought about by too many well-heeled people pricing out the young and the local who have always been the most vocal.

United fans have hit back by arguing that if a lack of singing is such a big problem for the team, why not introduce safe standing areas.

The club’s response was: “We are always open to a discussion... but moving people out of seats they have held for many years is fraught with problems.”

Which roughly translates as: “Standing will lead to calls for cheaper ticket prices which the owners won’t begin to accept so shut up and sit down.”

If Jose’s so concerned maybe he can subsidise the standing tickets himself?
