DITCHED: STARS JOSE SOLD TOO SOON

MOHAMED SALAH is not the only player to be discarded by Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, and his two reigns are littered with stars sold prematurel­y. Robert Huth: Sold to Middlesbro­ugh for £6million in August 2006. Won the title with Leicester in 2016. William Gallas: Joined Arsenal in a swap deal with Ashley Cole in August 2006. Had four seasons at The Emirates. Arjen Robben: Sold to Real Madrid for £24m in August 2007. The evergreen Dutch star is on his way to another Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich. Glen Johnson: Sold to Portsmouth for £4m in August 2007. Chelsea tried to buy him back two years later, but the right-back joined Liverpool for £18m. Kevin De Bruyne: Sold to Wolfsburg for £18m in January 2014. Bought by Manchester City for £55m in August 2015 and set to be Player of the Year. David Luiz: Sold to Paris Saint-Germain for £50m in June 2014. Bought back for £34m in August 2016. Romelu Lukaku: Sold for £28m to Everton in July 2014. Mourinho took him to Old Trafford for £75m last summer. Mohamed Salah: Sold by Mourinho (with Salah, left) to Roma for £12m in July 2016. Bought by Liverpool for £37m and, 11 months later, has scored 28 goals.
