Man, 51, held as girl, 11, dies in stabbing at gran’s house
A GIRL of 11 has died after being stabbed in her grandmother’s home.
Paramedics found Jasmine Forrester with multiple wounds and rushed her to hospital but she could not be saved.
Police said a male relative of 51 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.
They are not looking for anyone else over the incident. Supt Harvi Khatkar said: “This is an extremely distressing incident and our sympathies go out to everyone affected.” A neighbour in Wolverhampton who was woken in the early hours of yesterday by screaming said: “It was a horrific howling sound. “She was yelling, ‘Help me, help me, he has stabbed my granddaughter.’ It was chilling.” Shopkeeper Natu Patel, 67, said: “I’d see Jasmine every day, she was like a daughter to me. I can’t believe it. Why her?”
