Teen sold lad, 16, fatal drugs

A TEEN who supplied drugs to a boy who died at a youth disco could face jail.

Daniel Kennett, 18, admitted giving Luke Campbell, 16, MDMA or ecstasy.

Luke, of South Molton, Devon, collapsed after taking what was thought to be MDMA at the Vivid club in Ilfracombe last May and died in hospital in Barnstaple.

Kennett, of Putford, also admitted supplying the drug to others between March 1 and May 31. Appearing with him at Exeter crown court was a 17-year-old who cannot be named. Both spoke to give their names and ages, and enter pleas.

Sentence was adjourned for reports and the pair were released on bail. But Judge Graham Cottle said: “The fact I am prepared to grant bail is not to be taken as meaning you will not receive a custodial sentence. All options will be open.”
