I’M GOING TO MAN CITY
Laughing Mahrez back on duty and claims AWOL stories ‘untrue’
RIYAD MAHREZ returned to the Leicester City fold yesterday claiming he was the victim of “untrue assumptions”.
Now manager Claude Puel must decide whether to give his rebel forward a shock recall at Manchester City, the club he wanted to join last month.
Mahrez trained yesterday after 10 days
absent, following his failure to force a move to the Etihad and was put straight into the Foxes’ travelling party.
The Algeria midfielder, 26, said: “I would like to clarify that all those so-called assumptions about why I was absent are completely untrue.
“My goals have always been the same, and I have always given my full 100 per cent when I play.
“Those goals remain the same today and in future.”
Blues boss Pep Guardiola (left), who had a £60million offer for Mahrez rebuffed in January, said: “I wish he comes back soon, because we enjoy watching him play.”
