NOTTINGHAM FOREST legend Brian Clough was fuming with the club’s board after being refused permission to take charge of Wales.

Clough blasted: ‘‘The board seem to think I want to run Forest from the North Pole. I tried to tell them I would only be going to Wales not Timbuktu.’’ He said that these days he was only drinking water but confessed that today’s events had ‘‘nearly driven me back on the Scotch!’’
