Justus the genius can read at 14 months old
A TODDLER has taught himself to read at 14 months – and his dad believes the child genius could be the next Einstein.
Justus Smith stunned his parents when he started reading from books without either giving him lessons.
His father, Justice, said: “We were absolutely floored when he started seeing the words and saying them aloud without any coaching – it caught us completely off-guard.
“At first, we thought that maybe he’d just memorised them but he is able to sound out words phonetically as well.”
In tests the toddler, of Nashville, Tennessee, could read words randomly flashed up on a screen with ease. Justice added: “We’ve read to him consistently from the time he was three months but we never tried to get him to read for himself – he just started doing it.
“Whether we’re home or out in public, he will yell out words that are on display.
“We believe he could definitely give Einstein a run for his money in the history books.”
