A ROW has broken out on the eve of rugby league’s World Club Challenge in Melbourne after Leeds were told there will be two referees instead of one.

Rhinos were told of the change just 48 hours before tomorrow’s match against Melbourne Storm, meaning it will be refereed like an NRL game. Boss Brian McDermott said: “It’s not good. We agreed some parameters in England about how we’d play the game.

“We’re playing with 12 subs instead of 10, and the term that was always used was ‘international rules’.

“International rules mean you play with one referee.”
