MADRID GET REAL ON TOBY

REAL MADRID are ready to lead the chase for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.

The Spanish giants are keen on the Belgium centre-half (below) and have been alerted by his contract stand-off and not being picked for the squad to face Juventus.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino insists Alderweireld, 28, was left behind to work on his fitness after a long injury lay-off. But Alderweireld had been keen to play, insisting he was also fit for the north London derby.

Contract-wise, unless Spurs can tie him to new terms, they will have to consider selling the defender this summer.
