EMBARRASSMENT

The account he replied to, “twinkystar_69”, described the owner as “virgin F 20 years, bisexual, model cum student”.

Based in Joshpur and Mumbai in India, the profile has more than 15,000 followers.

The videos in question were posted almost a year ago.

It is not known how they came to be in Mr Barwell’s timeline, which shows tweets posted, retweeted or liked by his followers, as well as some commercial promoted tweets.

Other accounts automatically included in Mr Barwell’s reply also included pornographic material.

A Downing Street source said: “Gavin Barwell replied to this tweet, which was in his timeline, in error. He has deleted the reply and regrets the embarrassment it has caused.”

Ex-Housing Minister Mr Barwell replaced Mrs May’s controversial joint chiefs of staff Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill after they quit in the wake of last year’s general election.

He lost his own marginal Croydon Central seat in South London to Labour – despite writing a book called How To Win A Marginal Seat.

Mr Barwell previously embarrassed himself for his internet usage four years ago.

He taunted Labour for advertising a “Date Arab Girls” site on a Twitter link from the party – only to learn such adverts are based on “the types of sites” the viewer visits.

THERESA May’s chief of staff Gavin Barwell says he regrets directing his Twitter followers to explicit pornography.

He should spend less time on the internet and more on trying to get Downing Street to function properly.
