Cocaine-snorting thug jailed for locking ex in a dog cage
A THUG who beat up his ex-girlfriend and locked her in a dog cage after she ended the relationship has been jailed.
Patrick Middleton, 34, punched his victim several times, and dragged her by the hair around her own home
He snorted cocaine throughout the five-hour ordeal, at one point threatening to cut off her arms.
Middleton took the SIM card out of her phone and swallowed it before smashing the handset to pieces. He had earlier sneaked into the woman’s home in Leeds armed with a knife just after she had arrived home from a night out with friends before Christmas. Middleton, of Belle Isle, Leeds, admitted assaults causing actual bodily harm and was jailed for two years at Leeds crown court. Defence lawyer Mark McKone said: “He fell in love to such an extent that it caused him to behave irrationally.”
