Green Queen’s ban on straws
PLASTIC bottles and straws are being banned at Balmoral in a bid to make the Queen’s private Scottish estate her greenest residence.
Buckingham Palace is also halting their use in staff dining rooms and phasing them out in public cafes, in a move thought to be inspired by naturalist Sir David Attenborough.
The Palace said: “The royal household is committed to reducing its environmental impact. We’ve taken a number of practical steps to cut back on the use of plastics.”
