‘SALAH SALE WAS A STEAL’

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

MO SALAH’S old club admit Liverpool got a steal paying just £40million for the forward. Roma’s sporting director Monchi, who arrived at the Italian club shortly before the deal was concluded, said: “In today’s football, players go wherever they want to. “Then there were the transfers of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to Paris SaintGermain, that were a mess. “It blew up the transfer figures and altered the market. When I arrived, there was already a Liverpool offer for Salah worth 32million euros, and the player had an agreement with them. “Even now I think the price was not the best and could’ve been better.” Monchi was responding to angry Roma fans who claimed the 30-goal Reds star (above) had been sold cheap. He added: “The fee was still double what Liverpool’s first offer was, but fans don’t want to hear that.”
