Dan’s playing for Yorkshire united
Dan Jarvis, Labour MP for Barnsley, wants a second job, as elected Mayor of Sheffield Region. Polling is on May 3.
But he doesn’t want to be paid, and he wants the post to be abolished after one four-year term, because he supports the One Yorkshire dream of “home rule” for God’s Own County.
The Government hates this idea, but I suspect that Communities Secretary Sajid Javid will have to give way eventually. Five million Tykes can’t be wrong.
