Kilty deserves a big hand...
RICHARD KILTY has set his sights on World Championship redemption after a horror hand injury cost him his golden chance in London. Teesside’s European champion ruled himself out of the sprint relay quartet that took the world crown last summer, when he crushed a finger in his front door. “My finger was literally hanging off, I was pretty close to losing it,” said Kilty (above), who contests the 60m today at the SPAR British Champs. “I tripped running out of my house, caught my finger in the lock. “I had to drive myself to hospital, where metal wires were used to put my hand back together.”
