O’CONNOR DEMANDS TIGERS SHOW TEETH AT HOME
Leicester v Harlequins, 3pm LEICESTER need “a big performance” against Harlequins in today’s Premiership clash, according to coach Matt O’Connor.
Eighth-placed Tigers have claimed a solitary win from their last six league games, while Quins are one point behind them, and suffered a comprehensive home defeat against Wasps last time out.
“It’s our first home game in the Premiership for a long while, and it’s a big game for both teams,” O’Connor (below) said.
“The focus is good, the buy-in from the players is good, the effort is good, but we need a big performance at home.”
Quins have only won once on the road in Premiership action this season, while their last victory at Welford Road was more than four years ago. “Welford Road is always a challenging arena, and Saturday will be no different,” Quins rugby director John Kingston said. “We are well aware there is ground to make up in the race for play-offs and European qualification. An away victory at Leicester would be massive.”
