Reds have firepower to rule Europe

RIGHT now, would you swap Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino at Liverpool for Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe?

Jurgen Klopp’s trio have scored 63 club goals between them this season, while PSG’s holy trinity have 65. Take your pick between the most exciting front lines in Europe.

But there’s no debate about the outstanding performance in the Champions League this week. Not even close.

For Liverpool to score five in the away leg at Porto was a fantastic statement of their firepower.

This season, they are the highest scorers in the competition and, although Klopp (above) and his men have had their critics defensively, keeper Loris Karius has kept the most clean sheets.

The Reds put four past championselect Manchester City last month and now have destroyed a good side on their own turf.

Over two legs, you would fancy Salah, Mane and Firmino to do some serious damage against anyone – and I mean anyone – in the last eight.

I still think City will be the team to beat in the Champions League. But there will be seven clubs hoping to avoid Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
