Transplant boy tells MPs: It’s time to make history

-

MIRROR campaign boy Max Johnson has sent a personal message to MPs – urging them to use their power to save lives. Geoffrey Robinson’s Private Members’ Bill, which would introduce an “opt-out” law making every citizen a donor unless otherwise stated, goes before Parliament on Friday. Max’s video appeal will be sent to all MPs, reminding them of their chance to “make history” and save hundreds who die waiting for a transplant every year. He says: “Please vote to change the law – it will help save lives like mine.”

His dad Paul added: “Why delay? Organ donation needs to change. There is a disparity between the people who need a transplant and the organs available.

“People need to have the conversation. You can still opt out of donation under this system, but most people are in favour of it.”
