KFCs close as logistics firm fails to deliver
FAILED deliveries of key ingredients – including chicken and chips – have been blamed for closing scores of KFC restaurants.
Customers in Devon, Bristol, Berkshire, Surrey, Suffolk, Newcastle and Cheshire complained of weekend shortages.
DHL, which recently took on delivery operations for KFC in the UK and Ireland, yesterday apologised for blunders.
It said: “A number of deliveries have been incomplete or delayed. We are working with partners to rectify the situation.”
KFC fan Summer Thomas tweeted: “Ohhhh KFC what the cluck do you think you’re playing at closing near enough every branch in Bristol because you ran out of chicken! It’s the end of the world.”
