Corrie tot-swap grows into feud
Soap storylines and characters are often accused of forgetting huge, life-changing issues that occurred in recent history.
And Corrie fans may have thought that Michelle Connor’s baby-swap drama would never be mentioned again.
But we haven’t forgotten Kym Marsh’s character found out that Ryan – who she thought was her biological son – turned out to have been swapped with her real son, Alex, in the hospital at their births.
But Alex – now going by the name Ali – returned to the soap last week, played by James Burrows...
Explaining why Ali has turned up as a doctor at Weatherfield Medical Centre, James reveals: “He says that he’s been sent on a placement but he might have an ulterior motive.
“It’ll all unfold in the next few weeks.
“I think generally he’s a nice guy but he might have slightly darker side to him.
“He’s not a baddie but he has a chip on his shoulder and has a few issues.”
While Ali is being strangely standoffish with his mum, it seems any misplaced anger at being sent away to live with his other family will now be directed back at Ryan, who will also be returning from the past to the Street.
James adds: “There’s a lot of hatred there and some jealousy. It will get interesting.”
Sounds like it’s all going to kick off on the cobbles...
