The Terracotta harmy
A REVELLER broke off the thumb of a £3.2million terracotta warrior statue loaned to America, say police.
China has demanded “severe punishment” for arrested Michael Rohana, 24, who took a selfie with an exhibit. He is said to have gone into the display through an unlocked door after a party at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. He allegedly snapped a chunk off the left hand of one statue.
Wu Haiyun, of the Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Centre, said: “We ask that the US severely punish the perpetrator. We have lodged a serious protest.” They also want compensation.
