Navy mum: I fight on over son ‘murder’
THE grieving mother of a Royal Navy sailor is vowing to continue her fight for answers – convinced that her son was murdered.
Charles Warrender, 22, died after a night out in the Seychelles from a combination of a fatal dose of pure heroin and alcohol.
Mum Kate of North Thoresby, Lincs, said: “I know something horrible happened to Charles.
“Everything points to foul play. He was found yards from the ship, his wallet and watch were missing, and he had drugs sprinkled over his body.”
At a 2016 inquest for the Engineering Technician on HMS Richmond, the coroner said the drug overdose was “likely administered by a third party”. The Navy said it respected the outcome of the inquest.
