Footie ace ‘casino con’
AN ex-Premier League footballer gambled £16,000 at a casino using a stolen bank card, a court heard.
Blair Turgott, 23, who played for West Ham, allegedly used a card taken from victim Peter Dixon, 85, by a man posing as a bank worker.
Prosecutor Kaj Scarsbrook said: “Somehow the card and its details ended up in Mr Turgott’s possession.” Turgott took out two lots of £8,000 for chips at the Playboy casino, Park Lane, London.
He later cashed in £16,900, Southwark crown court heard.
Turgott, of Bromley, South East London, denies fraud.
The trial continues.
