Lags sniffy over Spice

INMATES at an open prison are turning their noses up at the “zombie drug” Spice and snorting cocaine instead, a report revealed.

Lags at Ford jail are rejecting the mind-bending former legal high, which poses the biggest drug problem around UK prisons.

An Independent Monitoring Board report into the West Sussex jail also found Ford had a problem with inmates’ steroid use.

It said as the jail lacks effective CCTV and is crossed by a public road, drugs could be easily lobbed over fences. The report said: “We find it extraordinary new equipment has still not been installed.”
