1924 CHAMONIX Ralph Broome, Thomas Arnold, Alex Richardson and Rodney Soher celebrated silver at the first winter Games in the four-man, with Switzerlan­d three seconds ahead. 1936 GARMISCH Once again it was the four-man that had Champagne corks popping in Germany as Fred McEvoy, James Cardno, Guy Dugdale and Charles Green got bronze, with two Swiss teams taking gold and silver. 1964 INNSBRUCK Britain’s finest moment came in Austria in the two-man when Tony Nash and Robin Dixon put in the fastest final run, pipping the Italian leaders for gold by 0.12s. 1998 NAGANO The quartet of Sean Olsson, Dean Ward, Courtney Rumbolt and Paul Attwood missed out on silver by 0.05s but claimed a joint bronze with France.
