The cab four owe Baggies a response

-

PLAYERS aren’t used to having a good drink together these days, so when they are given a night off on trips abroad there’s often a lot of faux bravado.

I know because I have been there and done it.

Letting off a fire extinguisher in La Manga in Spain during my Leicester days wasn’t exactly ‘borrowing’ a taxi but it still created plenty of headlines and a storm of bad publicity.

The drinks mount up and you can do stupid things.

What the lads involved in taxigate in Barcelona — Gareth Barry, Jonny Evans, Jake Livermore and Boaz Myhill — will know is that they owe the club one and I’m sure struggling West Brom will get a reaction from them.

Maybe Baggies boss Alan Pardew will decide against a city like Barcelona next time and opt instead to take his team to Dubai or Qatar.

That’s not just because the sporting facilities tend to be better but also because it’s harder to get a drink...
