Tribute planned for 22 victims of Manchester bombing

-

THE victims of the Manchester terror attack will be remembered in an emotional tribute during tonight’s Brits show.

The names of the 22 people who died last May in the suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in the Manchester Arena will be screened during the awards ceremony, backed by a musical tribute.

A source said: “It will be the biggest talking point of the night. The whole industry wants to come together to pay their respects to the victims.

“The effects of that terrible night resonated far and wide in the music industry and it’s only right everyone comes together to pay their respects.”

After the tragedy, Ariana Grande organised the One Love concert, with a line-up that included Take That and Coldplay. This month 24-year-old Ariana’s manager told how the singer cried for days and felt “every name” of the victims.

Scooter Braun, 36, said he and the singer had met 19 families who had lost loved ones, which had been the “hardest two hours of either of our lives”.

He revealed how Ariana was so traumatised by the bombing she had questioned whether she could sing again.

At last year’s Brits, Wham! legend Andrew Ridgeley paid an emotional tribute to George Michael, who had died on Christmas Day in 2016.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin performed George’s A Different Corner, accompanied by a string orchestra.
