Fact! Office India bound
An Indian version of The Office is to be made, with paper firm Wernham Hogg becoming Wilkins Chawla.
The David Brent character played by Ricky Gervais transforms into Jagdeep Chaddha and the Slough trading estate becomes an industrial park on the far edges of New Delhi.
It is the 10th international version of the show, with other reincarnations of Brent including France’s Gilles Triquet, played by Francois Berleand.
Ricky says of the BBC Worldwide deal: “When a country with a population of a billion has a version I’m hoping for big ratings.”
And that is not all. South Korea is to make its own version of Luther – to air in October – as well as Mistresses and Life on Mars. Cool.
