OLIVEIRA WOUNDS WOLVES

Wolves 2 Norwich 2

-

NELSON OLIVEIRA netted a last-gasp leveller to cut Wolves’ lead to nine points on a frustrating night for the Championship pacesetters.

The substitute earned a deserved point for Norwich with a 30-yard injury time equaliser (right).

Keeper John Ruddy should have denied his old club and saved at his near post but was beaten as the ball bounced.

A further setback came with a 10th booking of the season for midfielder Ruben Neves, who misses the next two games.

Wolves were ahead on 14 minutes when Diogo Jota’s shot hit the post and Jemal Lewis was credited with an own goal as Norwich tried to clear. Alfred N’Diaye headed the second seven minutes later and Wolves looked comfortable.

But Norwich were back in it with a 27th-minute Christoph Zimmermann header and they went on to dominate the rest of the game – though they were made to wait for their reward.
