BOBBY SWOOPS IN FOR ROBINS

Bristol City 1 Fulham 1

-

BOBBY REID blasted his 16th goal of the season to earn Bristol City a precious point against promotion rivals Fulham.

Aleksandar Mitrovic fired the Cottagers into a 14th-minute lead.

The on-loan Newcastle striker (below) pounced from close range after Cyrus Christie’s cleverly angled ball from the right corner of the penalty area towards the six-yard box was not cleared.

But the Robins swooped for an equaliser on 35 minutes as top-scorer Reid struck with a left-footed drive following a neat one-two with Josh Brownhill inside the area.

With both sides committed to attacking football from the first whistle, the match provided tremendous entertainment for a 21,236 crowd at Ashton Gate.

City and Fulham had chances to win, but a draw was the only fair outcome to a pulsating match that did the promotion contenders huge credit.

Fulham extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to 11 games and look strong candidates for the Premier League next term.
