Walking test for dementia
A SIMPLE walking test could help diagnose a cause of dementia.
Seeing how fast a patient can walk while doing something else, such as carrying a tray, can help show if they carry a trigger for the disease and whether it is reversible.
Study author Dr Charlotte Selge, of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, said: “Adding another task while someone walks, and evaluating how it affects [them], improves accuracy.”
