11-hour op for stroke-hit tot
BRITAIN’S youngest stroke victim has had 11 hours of lifesaving brain surgery.
Ronnie Kerman, 19 months, was rushed to hospital after his parents, Phil and Louise, found him “lifeless” in his cot.
Two cysts pressing on a non-cancerous tumour had caused a stroke.
After a first op to relieve the pressure, he had the major surgery at Leeds General Infirmary. Phil, 39, of Hull, said: “He is such a brave little boy.”
Ronnie now faces months of chemotherapy.
