Get this flippin’ thing off my neck

-

MEET another victim of the scourge of plastic litter threatening our shores.

This grey seal may look comical with a frisbee stuck round her neck, but the results were anything but.

The plastic toy became stuck when she was a pup and cut into her flesh as she grew.

Mrs Frisbee, as rescuers called her, was near death when she was captured off Horsey Beach, Norfolk. The seal was released into the wild yesterday after five months of care by the RSPCA for a deep neck wound. Alison Charles, of East Winch Wildlife Centre, said: “Poor Mrs Frisbee was extremely emaciated, she had been starving a long time. “It is heart-breaking to think that this could have been prevented if people took extra care with their litter. If you lose a frisbee, make efforts to find it.”
