Ninth? Don’t knock it says the Rocket

ROCKET MAN Dave Ryding misfired in his bid for Olympic glory.

His ninth place in the men’s slalom was still Britain’s best alpine skiing result for 30 years.

But after making the World Cup podium last year, he insists he’ll be back for a fourth Olympics in 2022 aged 35, the same age as the last two slalom champions.

“After the dust settles I’m sure I’ll be pretty proud of a top-10 finish at the Olympics and in four years’ time have something to really build on,” said Ryding (above).

“I’ve had a podium at World Cup level and it’s the same guys I compete with so why not?”
