COLEMAN: I’ LL DEFY DOUBTERS
CHRIS COLEMAN has insisted he does not regret joining rock-bottom Sunderland.
The former Wales boss could have had the pick of jobs after leaving the international scene on a high. He chose to try to revive the cash-strapped Black Cats, but has seen his side slump to the foot of the Championship.
He signed his Sunderland deal just before West Brom sacked Tony Pulis, now Boro boss, who he faces this weekend.
Coleman (above) said: “I am not sorry I joined Sunderland. I always knew the experience, for two to three years, however long I am here, would make me better. It is super-tough now. Anything I have achieved I have had to suffer for.
“We’ve been written off as a hopeless case, fine. Let’s prove people wrong.”
