Thugs attack veteran, 96

TWO burglars attacked a 96-year-old wartime POW in his home and stole cash, watches and jewellery.

They pinned down the Second World War veteran and put a quilt over him in Yardley, Birmingham, at 2am last Saturday.

The victim said: “I was a prisoner in 1943, but was not as afraid then as I am now in my own home.”
