Shoes on for air security

A STEP-ON shoe scanner may allow plane travellers to keep their shoes on for security checks.

Security Screening Technologies, based in Hope, Derbyshire, is one of eight projects to benefit from a £1.8million state grant.

Aviation Minister Baroness Sugg said: “The safety of people travelling is our top priority.”
