That’s David Moyes’ record at Anfield

-

HIS NUMBERS AT LIVERPOOL: P-14 W-0 D-7 L-7 F-6 A-17 Liverpool v West Ham WEST HAM boss David Moyes hopes it will be 15th time lucky for him at Anfield today.

In 14 previous visits to Liverpool’s home ground as manager of Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland he has overseen seven draws but no wins. But although Liverpool versus West Ham does not have quite the same glamour as a Merseyside derby or a Liverpool-United clash, Moyes (left) does not believe there is less pressure on him to break his Anfield duck. “No, I don’t think for me there is,” he said. “I go there wanting to win and every

time I don’t I get challenged on it. West Ham went there two seasons ago and won. And we have had good results recently against some of the bigger teams... look at how we did against Tottenham at Wembley.

“We will have to call on all that determination and organisation to get another good result.”

While his defence is attempting to handle Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, Moyes hopes that Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic (above, with Manuel Lanzini; Patrice Evra training right) can pose as much of a challenge at the other end. “It’s tough for any club going to Anfield,” he said. “But I’m looking forward to it because we’re in a bit of form. We’ll do our best to contain the three you’ve mentioned but there will always be chances to score against them.”
