POGBA TRUST DO BETTER

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

JOSE MOURINHO has warned out-of-favour Manchester United star Paul Pogba he must fight to win back his trust.

The France midfielder has been benched for two of his last four games for United and subbed early in the other two after falling short of the standard Mourinho expects.

United’s club-record £89million signing is unsure if he will start tomorrow’s crucial Premier League clash with Chelsea after Mourinho said it is the job of the players to earn his trust. “I think I don’t give trust for free,” said Mourinho in a clear warning to Pogba to raise his game. “I think it’s the other way round. I don’t think it’s about the manager trusting the player, it’s up to the player to make the manager trust him. It’s as simple as that.”
