WIN WOULD SUIT TAYLOR
CHARLIE TAYLOR is desperate for a Burnley victory to prove he is no Premier League jinx.
The full-back (above) made his first top-flight start for the Clarets two months ago – and they have not won since.
Taylor, signed from Leeds last summer, made his league debut for Burnley as a substitute for the injured Stephen Ward when they beat Stoke 1-0 on December 12.
But 10 league starts since then have brought no victories, a statistic he aims to put right against Southampton today.
Taylor’s winless run does not put him up there with Gareth Bale, who went two years without a Premier League win after joining Spurs from the Saints in 2007.
And Taylor said: “He hasn’t done badly, has he? So that’s encouraging. But it does play on your mind. The sooner the win comes, the better for me and the team.”
